Welcome to CTMS Cotillion 2026!
CTMS Cotillion kicks off this Friday, January 16th. We have over 160 Wolves registered! Mrs. April Slapa, our dance instructor, and our Cotillion committees have been working together since September to organize a special, memorable experience for our Wolves. The information below will help explain the flow of events and what to expect for the next 4 Friday nights.
- All parties start at 6pm in the CTMS SAC. Please be on time! No tickets are required as your Wolf is registered. Students will enter the SAC through the East-facing courtyard entrance and check-in at a Registration Table. Dinner and bottled water will be served at 6:30pm. ***If your child has a food allergy, they must come to the kitchen to get their food to avoid mix ups. A brief personal development talk lasting 5 minutes will be presented before they eat. Dance instruction will last for about 1hr 15min. At the end of the evening, students will exit the SAC through the South-facing doors for parent pick-up through the double car lanes.
- Cotillion is a cell phone-free event. Phones can be distracting and inhibit engagement. We encourage students to pay attention for 2 hours. We will have volunteers running a secure check-in station for those that feel the need to bring a cell phone with them. Parent volunteers will store phones until wolves are dismissed.
- Attire each week can correspond to the theme. Please remember that the CTMS Dress Code will be enforced.

Other Important Information
- ABSENCE: If you are aware of a planned absence for any of the 4 nights please respond to this email. This will help greatly as we will need to adjust seating and pairings. Thank you!
- Only parents who complete a background check and sign up on the official SignUp Genius will be permitted to stay weeks 1 thru 3. ALL parents are invited to the Finale on February 6th. There will be a special student-parent dance at Finale that you won’t want to miss! NO SIBLINGS PLEASE.
- Partners and pairs will change multiple times over the weeks. Not every dance requires partners and pairs; Mrs. Slapa is amazing and seasoned! She teaches a wide variety of contemporary and classic dance styles including individual and line dances. She is terrific with beginners and helping them feel relaxed while having fun!
**Parents! Please talk to your students weekly about exemplifying the Wolf Way by being polite, kind, and respectful towards their peers and the instructors. We know they may feel anxious and nervous. Please encourage them to smile and go with the flow of pairing up, even if it is with a classmate they may not know well or may not be friends with. Comfort zones are meant to be stretched during Cotillion. Rude behavior is counterproductive to the purpose of this great program. If boys or girls refuse to dance or refuse to partner up with their peers then they will be asked by our volunteers to take a seat. Repeated disrespect could result in a phone call to parents to be picked up from the party. We don’t want anyone to have hurt feelings! We hope all Wolves have an enjoyable and worthwhile experience and they feel successful gaining self-esteem and confidence over the next month.
For any questions regarding Cotillion, please reply to this email and they will be directed to the appropriate person.
Thank you,
The 2026 Cotillion Planning Committee
